INTERVIEWS WITH IMMIGRANT STUDENTS

To come to a new country and start your life there is never easy. To be a student, not knowing how it works, maybe even not understanding the language can be a cause of many problems.

One of the main goals of our project is improving this experience especially for the students and adjusting the school environment so that our immigrant classmates can integrate seamlessly.

This is how some of the students at the Finnish school perceive being a European citizen.

The best way to find out how we can fulfill the needs of the students coming to our schools from other countries is to ask them about what they would have liked to know before they had come. Then we can start working on how we can ease their arrival into the new country.

We have interviewed students with immigrant background at every school and asked them to help us with the task by providing us with their answers.

This is how it went.
